Dubbed as 'Australia's Vegetarian Guru', Kurma has been writing cookbooks, teaching students and hosting internationally broadcast TV shows for over thirty years.

His books have sold over one million copies. Kurma will be teaching his special brand of gourmet vegetarian cuisine at Govindas(see below for details).

Kurma was born in England, moving to Australia with his parents in 1964. He started his cooking career in the Sydney kitchens of the Krishna movement, where he began by cutting vegetables, grinding fresh herbs and spices, and assisting in the preparation of their famous Sunday Feasts.

Since those humble beginnings, Kurma has gone on to teach his special brand of eclectic gourmet vegetarian cuisine throughout Australia and around the world. Kurma was head chef at Melbourne's most popular Vegetarian Restaurant, Gopal's, for many years and is the author of Great Vegetarian Dishes, Cooking With Kurma, Quick Vegetarian Dishes and most recently Vegetarian World Food (Titles featured below). All books have received wide acclaim for their clearly written and richly illustrated presentation of vegetarian cuisine.

Kurma has hosted three internationally broadcast television cooking series seen in over 46 countries. His third and latest 26-part TV series "Cooking with Kurma - More Great Vegetarian Dishes"recently screened throughout Australia on SBS and Foxtel.

Kurma's light-hearted presentation of healthy, delicious and innovative cuisine continues to shake off the outdated notion that vegetarian food is dull and lack-lustre.

Kurma will be conducting a 4 hour cooking workshop on Sunday 17th October  at Govindas Restaurant starting at 10:00am with lunch served at around 2:00pm. (Please note that the Saturday 16th October class is now sold out) 

The cost of the workshop is $135.00.

As the class is very interactive it is advisable (but not essential) to bring a pen, apron, tea-towel, knife and cutting board.

As these  workshops are immensely popular and are booking out very early, if you are interested in attending, make sure that you book a space as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
