Madhusudan Therapy is a holistic natural therapy derived from Ayurveda and taught by internationally renowned Ayurvedic practitioner, Dr. Madhusudan Ray.  The main objective of our treatment is to create activity and an even flow in the five channels (meridians, nerves, lymph nodes, veins & arteries) thus improving the functioning of all the systems of the body and restoring good health and well-being.

Our treatment consists of:
•    walking on the pyramid mat
•    stretching exercises to relieve the spine of tension
•    deep breathing to oxygenize the blood
•    deep acupressure treatment to hands & feet, which warms up the body and boosts activity in the endocrine glands, organs & channels.
The body is then prepared for realignment through manipulation & physiotherapy to ensure the plexuses of the body are perfectly aligned, i.e. the pulses of these plexuses are in the centre of the body.  The most important plexuses are the Solar plexus and Epigastric plexus, which control digestion and elimination.  If these plexuses are not in their correct position the body can undergo many discomforts such as lack of energy and drive, insomnia, weight gain or loss, excess gas in the intestines, acidity, constipation, loose motion, aches and pains in the head and body, and most of all malabsorption of nutrients from foods, liquids, dietary supplements and medicines.

Our treatment may also consist of:
Lifestyle choices – some simple guidelines to follow on a daily basis to ensure a balance of all five elements – earth, water, fire, air & ether – in the form of:
earth – food – regular intake of correct foods & regular elimination
water – water – sufficient hydration
fire – some form of regular exercise
   air – deep breathing
ether – rest, relaxation & meditation

The treatment ends with a conscious relaxation time to allow the body to accept the new state of balance, and the mind to feel peaceful.

The Practitioners
Damien Hagglund was born in Bali, Indonesia in 1977 and he studied in a traditional Vedic International school from the age of six until twelve. During that period he was introduced to Ayurveda and thereafter was brought up with the applied principles of Ayurveda in his family life. Having completed his formal education in Australia he returned to India to study Ayurvedic healing therapies under the guidance of Dr. Madhusudan Ray, who comes from a lineage of dedicated Ayurvedic practitioners. Jassim has been a student of Dr. Madhusudan Ray since 1996, training in Acupressure, Ayurveda, Physiotherapy, Yoga & Pranayam.  He has successfully treated many people with these natural therapies in India, UK, Spain, Germany, Italy & Sweden, and has recently returned to Australia to pursue his vocational calling in the art of healing.
Gita,  Damien's mother, who is an experienced Ayurvedic therapist, first came in contact with Ayurveda in 1981 through the teachings of Dr. Vasant Lad, and later in 1987 was invited to be the guest of internationally renowned Ayurvedic doctor, Dr. Kamlesh in his hometown Lucknow, India, who personally taught her some important Ayurvedic principles. Over the years her passion for natural therapies grew and although Gita had experience in Shiatsu and Reflexology she learnt the traditional Ayurvedic form of Acupressure under the guidance  of Dr. Madhusudan Ray from 1996 in India, treating many patients in his charitable clinic.  Having treated clients in England and Europe Gita recently returned to Australia  to continue practising this very potent healing science.

A Glimpse of the Workings of Acupressure      Acupressure means the art of treating disease or bodily discomforts by applying pressure to specific points located on the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet, which are connected to the brain, organs and endocrine glands.  This pressure sends different frequencies of energy flowing through the channels via the spinal column to the brain and thereafter to the desired area of the body.
The human body is the greatest wonder in the cosmos and is equipped with the best automatic, delicate but most powerful ‘in-built’ healing mechanism: the liver & stomach – a wonderful chemical laboratory; lungs, kidneys & spleen – a non-stop blood cleanser; immune system & spleen –  a constant defence system; thyroid & parathyroid glands – temperature & metabolism control, etc.  Acupressure acts as a catalyst to ‘kick start’ this most amazing ‘in-built’ healing process by stimulating the action of under-performing glands and organs whilst calming those which are over-active.  It also strengthens the immune system and regulates the hormonal system creating balance and harmony, thus facilitating the function of the body, mind & spirit as a united force.

The Concept of the Body as Planet Earth

The Solar Plexus represents the core of the Earth which is a constant source of internal heat (digestive system).  There are north & south poles (running along the spine), longitude & latitude (known in the body as meridians, along which bio-electricity & magnetism flow), gravity and balance (controlled by the brain and the nervous system),  winds (gases in the intestines, air circulating in the lungs & blood as oxygen), rivers (currents of blood pumped by the heart & lungs), lakes (bladder, lymph nodes & gallbladder), waterfalls (saliva, tears & urine), mountains & hills (nose, shoulders, knees, elbows, knuckles, breasts & buttocks), caves (nostrils, ears, mouth cavity, armpits & anus), jungles & forests (hair over the entire body).  The body also undergoes natural disasters like droughts & earthquakes (parched & cracked skin), volcanoes (boils & pimples), floods (loose motion & vomiting), tidal waves of emotion, usually controlled by the moon, etc.  Our body is affected by season changes by becoming dry in winter, moist in humidity, and parched in the summer.
Just as the Earth is greatly affected by the moon, sun and surrounding planets, so we are affected physically & emotionally by these same forces of nature.  Our body also has millions of different entities living in and on it.  It has its own defence system to keep the overpopulation of these entities and intruders at bay, just as Planet Earth does.  It has a natural rejuvenation system which takes place every seven years when all the cells are renewed.  The body is constantly creating, maintaining & destroying within itself.  Ayurveda teaches us simple, but extremely effective methods to keep the five great elements of this Earth, which reside in our body, in balance to live a harmonious and prosperous, joyful life.
Let’s live in tune with Mother Nature!
